ALAPPUZHA: Accusations have been raised that there was a mix-up between newborn babies who came for treatment at Beach Government Hospital. The babies born three days ago to Tathampally and Vellakinar natives were given to the wrong parents.
Both babies were taken to the ICU for observation due to a minor health issue. The babies got interchanged when they were returned to their relatives. Relatives were able to identify the change in the child because the child of the Thannampally native was a girl and the child of the Vellakinar native was a boy.
The relatives said that the cleaning workers of the hospital brought the babies back and handed them over and they will file a complaint with the hospital superintendent.
