THRISSUR: A youth committed suicide by jumping into a well along with his two children after a fight with his wife. The dead has been identified as Shihab (35) of Moonnupeedika in Thrissur. The incident happened Thursday morning at 5.30 am. A fight broke out between the two over financial issues. Soon Shihab jumped into the well with his children aged two-and-a half and four-and-a half- years old.

The children were rescued by their relatives and neighbours. Though the police and the fire force jointly took Shihab out of the well and took him to Kodungalloor taluk hospital, his life could not be saved. Shihab runs a tile shop in Chenthrapini. The reason for Shihab to take the extreme step is not known.
