PATHANAMTHITTA: At the Sabarimala review meeting held at Pamba in the presence of Ministers K Radhakrishnan and K Rajan, it was decided to go for the alternative system to control the crowd after different departments came at loggerheads with each other.

According to the new system new queue will be arranged for children, elderly women, and differently abled. The worry that children might go missing will also be addressed. The limit of the devotees coming to Sabarimala will be fixed at 90,000 through virtual queue. The working of queue complex and fly-over will be made efficient. Also toilet facilities and food will be provided to those devotees standing in queue.

The government has ordered the Motor Vehicle Department to investigate the complaint of cramping devotees in buses. If need be, more buses will be pressed into service. The MVD will check if old buses are being used for service. Checking to make sure that higher ticket rates are not charged.

The Forest Department’s help is sought to find out more space for parking centers. It is decided to appoint more employees there.
