THRISSUR: Several Youth Congress leaders were put in preventive detention in Kunnamkulam for allegedly planning to stage a protest and wave blag flags at the Chief Minister's convoy. The police took the action to avoid protests as part of security preparations. Youth Congress Mandalam president AM Nitish, Jerry P Raju and Vigneswara Prasad were taken into preventive custody to avoid the black flag protest.
More police forces have been deployed in the region as the Chief Minister's convoy passes through. Opposition organizations have staged black flag protests against the Chief Minister several times despite tight security. The police took the Congress workers in preventive custody to prevent any such incident this time.
