KOCHI: The High Court has ordered that a special queue must be arranged for children below ten years, the elderly, and those who need special care, at Sabarimala from the Valiya Nadapandal to Sanidhanam. Together with this, facilities must be provided for those who had already got the darshan and waiting for those who are with them, and also provide announcement about this.
The division bench also instructed to provide water and biscuit for those waiting in the queue.
The Devaswom Board has informed that to control the rush a queue complex has been arranged at Sharamkuthi, which can accommodate 4800 people and has six rows.
The court also ordered to check if toilets are provided with water and taps. The environment department Assistant Engineer must inspect on alternate days. The government informed that more forces are deployed to control the rush on the roads.
The court ordered that unnecessary decorations must be removed that obstructs the views of the temple. The petitions will be considered today in a special sitting.
The court ordered that fitness certificates of KSRTC buses running the Nilackal-Pamba chain service must be checked. The pilgrims must not be crammed into vehicles. Enough police officers must be there to control the crowds. The decorations on the vehicles will be controlled to ensure the safety of the pilgrims. The instructions of the Pathanamthitta District Collector and Police chief must be followed correctly. The KSRTC informed that the maximum is done to reduce the rush.
The HC enquired if more parking facilities can be provided at Nilackal in view of the rush in the coming days. The Devaswom Board said that more space is being arranged for this. There are 16 grounds at Nilackal which can park about 10,000 vehicles.
