THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: After eight years, KSRTC employees will return to khaki uniform. The management is planning to make the change from January. The CMD held discussions with the labour unions in this regard.
This was a long-standing demand raised by KSRTC employees regardless of the union. Khaki uniform is for driver, conductor and inspector. A special badge and symbols will be included to indicate seniority. Mechanical employees will have blue uniform. Bulk order for uniforms will be placed soon.
The khaki uniform of KSRTC, which lasted for three decades, got a change in 2015. The change was to bring a fresh and professional face to KSRTC. The uniform of conductors and drivers is blue shirt and dark blue pants. For mechanical staff, this unform colour is gray. Inspectors wear a faded white shirt and black pants.
