NEW DELHI: The BJP will organize a nationwide protest today against Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto's controversial remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi after receiving severe criticism from India at the UN Security Council.
Last day, Bilawal Bhutto raised the issue of Kashmir in the UN Security Council. India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar retorted that the country that protected Al-Qaida terrorist Osama bin Laden and attacked the neighboring country's parliament is not qualified to give "moral advice" on the UN platform.
“Osama bin Laden is dead, but the butcher of Gujarat lives and he is the Prime Minister of India. He was barred from entering the US till he became the prime minister.”, said Bilawal criticizing Modi. Bilawal said that Modi is mentally bankrupt and irresponsible.
Ministry of External Affairs expressed protest
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Union Ministers came out with harsh criticism against Bilawal's statement. “The remarks of Foreign Minister of Pakistan are indicative of not just a bankrupt nation i.e Pakistan but the bankruptcy of emotions and bankruptcy of intellect by the leaders who run that country,” said Meenakshi Lekhi, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture
Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that Bilawal's statement was shameful and he has not still recovered from the pain of Pakistan's defeat to the Indian Army in 1971. The Ministry of External Affairs stated that Bhutto's ancestors were responsible for terrorism in Kashmir, Punjab, Afghanistan, Balochistan and Karachi and knew who the butchers really were. The Foreign Ministry responded that Bilawal's statement was uncivilized and a shame to Pakistan.
BJP workers came forward against the remarks. The BJP workers protested in front of the Pakistan Embassy in New Delhi and demanded an apology from Bilawal. BJP has also called for nationwide protests today.
