JAIPUR: A 32-year-old youth killed his aunt after hitting her head with a hammer. The incident happened at Jaipur in Rajasthan on December 11. The youth identified as Anuj Sharma has been arrested.

Anuj killed his 64-year-old aunt Saroj. Only he and his aunt were at home at the time of the incident. Anuj was staying with his father, sister and aunt Saroj. His aunt was staying with them after the death of her husband. Anuj’s mother had died of Covid last year.

Anuj wanted to attend an event in Delhi but Saroj asked him to stay back and this led to an argument. In a fit of rage, he hit her head with a hammer while she was making tea.

He then cut her body in 10 pieces with a marble cutter and carried them in a bucket and a suitcase and dumped them in a remote area along the Jaipur-Sikar Highway. He later filed a missing complaint and searched for her along with other relatives to mislead the police.

The police during investigation found his statements misleading. They later started monitoring his activities. In the meanwhile, they examined the CCTV visuals and saw him going the bucket and a suitcase. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime. The police said that he confessed to the crime during the subsequent interrogation. The police found blood stains in the kitchen.

Anuj is very smart and educated. He has psychopath tendencies. The police suspected him as he filed a missing complaint, but CCTV footage did not show his aunt leaving the house and the CCTV showed him carrying bucket and a suitcase out of the house. A case has been registered against Anuj for murder and destruction of evidence.
