KOCHI: Opposition leader V D Satheesan demanded to stop the satellite survey in the buffer zone. He said the satellite survey was unclear and a direct survey should be conducted soon. Satheesan said what the government has done is an unforgivable mistake and the opposition will take over the buffer zone strike.
‘The government has not been able to clear the doubts of the central government. The government had created a confusion. The government issued an unclear order. This is a problem that affects the people and the government should see it seriously. A K Rail model strike will be organized on the issue. Flaws are learned when stokes controversy. Until then, the report was kept in the freezer,’ blamed Satheesan.
Meantime, the diocese of Thamarashery came forward with a demand to withdraw the satellite survey report. Bishop Mar Remigius Inchananiyil said the map is full of errors and a social impact study should be conducted. He also said the government should understand the pain of the people living on the hilly areas in the buffer zone issue.
The bishop also alleged that there was a conspiracy in the delay in the release of the survey report. We are only asking the right for the farmers to live. The government should stand with them to get it. He said two or three ministers should be appointed to study the matter. The bishop while addressing the press meet said public awareness journeys will start tomorrow. The Bathery Municipal Council also passed a resolution on the buffer zone issue. The resolution was passed by the ruling committee headed by the CPM. The entire city of Sultan Batheri falls within the buffer zone.
