THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have gathered information about the lawyers who were named accused in the case where Valiyathura woman SI Alina Cyrus was attacked by a group of lawyers. The investigation team clarified that it will take further action only after gathering more information.

Since the incident took place on the court premises, the police are likely to seek legal advice on how to proceed with the case. At present, the Vanchiyoor police have booked the 20 accused lawyers for insulting a woman, misbehaving and obstructing the police. The police also said that they will bring more charges against the lawyers. The police are of the view that they need to gather more information before arresting the accused.

The group of lawyers misbehaved with the woman SI the other day when she reached the Vanchiyoor court to present a missing woman before the court. The woman SI has identified the accused number one to three-Pranav, Serena and Murali. She has informed the police about this. Alina also lodged a complaint with the Magistrate against advocate Pranav on Sunday.

As per the rule, the Magistrate should give directions for further action as soon as the complaint is received. However, the Magistrate did not consider the SI's complaint yesterday. Meanwhile, advocate Serena has filed a complaint with the Chief Judicial Magistrate and the City Police Commissioner alleging that the female SI assaulted her. The City Police Commissioner will forward this complaint to Vanchiyoor police.
