THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police are planning to take strict action to prevent drug use in connection with New Year celebrations in the state. Speaking to the media in Kottayam, DGP Anil Kant said that measures will be intensified to prevent the consumption of drugs during the New Year celebrations. As part of attempts to reduce drug use, he stated that the police would conduct a special drive across the state.

"Police are going ahead with efforts to prevent drug use in the state. Actions such as arrests are already underway in the cases. In order to prevent drug use, special drives are being conducted to find and arrest those who are supplying drugs to Kerala," Anil Kant said.
