KOCHI: Sajesh Krishnan, who lost his left leg in a bike accident when he was a first-year B.Tech student in a college in Payyannur, chose sports as his future. Sajesh, who hasn’t even participated in a running race till then, is now Kerala's best blade runner. He has also done trekking to the Tadiyandamol peak in Coorg along with his friend Neeraj, who has lost his right leg due to cancer. Then he reached up to 6,000 feet above sea level and have participated in 40 marathons.

Sajesh Krishnan (35) is an active marathon participant. It started with a 10 km marathon called 'Run for Legs' in Kochi in 2017. He came first in that marathon. With that, he started running five kilometers daily. He completed the 21.1 km (Half Marathon) in the Kochi Spice Coast Marathon organized by Souls of Cochin Runners Club on the last 4th in 3.15 hours. He is currently preparing for Kannur Peravoor Marathon on 24th.

After the accident in 2005, Sajesh had prosthetic leg, but he never stopped falling behind in anything. He learned driving and continued swimming. After completing his B.Tech, he started working in Bengaluru in 2009.

He had to give up his job in Oman because he was denied a medical certificate because of his prosthetic leg. Later, he became a temporary instructor in Kannur Govt ITI.

It was at that time that he got an announcement in the WhatsApp group that Spices Marathon would sponsor 20 people who were interested in running marathon for five kilometers. He started training without revealing the mission. On November 14, 2015, he ran in Kochi and became a star in news. Nasir Abal, founder and CEO of a multinational company ‘Resemble System’, saw Sajesh's channel interview and offered him a job as HR Manager in Bengaluru.
