THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Flower show will begin tomorrow here in the capital city as part of Christmas and New Year celebrations. The State Tourism Department, Thiruvananthapuram District Tourism Promotion Council and Kerala Rose Society jointly organize 'Nagaravasantham' in collaboration with Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the flower show tomorrow at 6 pm at Nishagandi. Tourism Minister PA Muhammad Riyas will preside. Ministers V Sivankutty, GR Anil, Adv Antony Raju, Roshy Augustine, Thiruvananthapuram Mayor Arya Rajendran, MPs Shashi Tharoor, AA Rahim, VK Prashanth MLA, Rigata Centre director Kalamandalam Girija and others will participate in the inauguration ceremony.

The public will be allowed entry to the flower festival exhibition arranged at Kanakakunnu, Nishagandhi and Suryakanti from 3 pm on 22/12/2022. The ticket price is Rs 100 for adults and Rs 50 for children up to 12 years. Ticket counters have been set up at fivcentresrs in the city to avoid congestion. Ticket counters have been set up in front of Kanakakunnu, tourism office opposite the museum, the Pushpotsavam organizing committee office in front of Jawahar Balabhavan, the District Tourism Promotion Council office in Vellayambalam and Tagore Theater in Vazhuthacaud. The exhibition, which is part of 'Nagaravasantham', will go on till 1 am in the night. Tickets to watch the show will be available till 12 am.

Hundreds of installations have been prepared as part of the spring festival. These are installed around Kanakakunn and in various centres of the city. Attractions like elaborate cut flower exhibition, bonsai exhibition, ornamental fish exhibition and adventure games 9D theater are also arranged as part of 'Nagaravasantham'. Dance performances led by Regatta Centre will also be held.

Film stars like Padmapriya, Rachana Narayanankutty, Neena Prasad, Rajashree Warrier, Gopika Verma, Priya Vembatti and others will do dance performances. Musical performances by playback singers Gayathri, Rajalakshmi, Pushpavathi, Akhila Anand, Aparna Rajeev, Narayani Gopan, Khalid and others will be staged, as well as artistic performances by Kanal Musical Band and the cultural wing of Janmaitri Police. There will also be solo instrumental music performances on the public streets and in the Suryakanthi precinct. Suryakanthi has also set up a food court with food varieties from around 20 states under the leadership of Cafe Kudumbashree.
