THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Record sales by Bevco during the day of FIFA World Cup final. As per reports, there is an additional turnover of Rs 20 crore than the sale on normal days. On the day of the final, the liquor sales by Bevco touched Rs 50 crore. Usually, Rs 30 crore sale takes place on Sundays.

Bevco outlet in Tirur reported the highest liquor sale with Rs 45 lakh. The sale of Rs 43 lakh in Vythiri outlet in Wayand. Usually record liquor sales happen in state during Onam and Christmas.

Meanwhile, a lorry carrying liquor met with an accident in Kozhikode on the old bridge at Feroke. The lorry hit the bridge while coming. Following that, liquor of 50 cases, fell on the road. As the lorry sped away without stopping, the locals were busy in grabbing the bottles. The police later reached the spot and shifted the remaining liquor bottles to the station. Police said they are collecting details of the lorry.
