THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister on Tuesday, a decision was taken to release the authentic document given in the Supreme Court on the buffer zone issue. This is to address the concerns of the people. There will be an opportunity to submit additional information to be included on the map.
There will be an online meeting of presidents, secretaries, village officers, tehsildars and forest officials of 87 panchayats with the participation of revenue, forest and local self-government ministers on Wednesday. Details regarding field verification will be decided in the meeting.
Today's high-level meeting has decided to publish the document given in the Supreme Court clarifying the position of the state government, in order to address the concerns of the people. There is a decision to exclude residential areas. The opinion raised in the meeting is that the satellite survey report published on the website is not an authentic document and on the basis of this there are now controversies. This is why the document is being published. A press conference will be held by the Chief Minister to explain the measures. The press conference will be held after the cabinet meeting tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Congress is planning to coordinate the protest against the government on the buffer zone issue. Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala responded that the decisions at the high-level meeting on the issue are trivial. He said that the Congress will protect farmers' interests at any cost.
