PALAKKAD: The NIA will investigate the murder case of RSS activist Sreenivasan. Union Home Ministry has issued an order in this regard. NIA Kochi unit will conduct the investigation. As soon as the case diary is received from the police, the FIR will be filed in the Kochi NIA court.
Earlier in the report given by the NIA to the Union Home Ministry regarding the PFI ban, it was stated that there was a terrorist connection behind Sreenivasan's murder. Considering this, the investigation has been handed over to NIA. According to the report, State Secretary CA Rauf and Yahia Koya Thangal, who were arrested after the PFI raid, are involved in the Sreenivasan murder case. So far 42 accused have been arrested in the case investigated by the state police.
Sreenivasan was hacked to death by a six-member gang on last April 16. The investigation team found that Sreenivasan's murder was a revenge for Popular Front leader Zubair's murder.
