KOCHI: The High court has directed to implement the government's new order that allows entry in medical college hostels after 9.30 pm subject to conditions. The curfew is till 9.30 pm. Justice Devan Ramachandran has welcomed the order that does not differentiate between male and female.

The High Court is considering petitions filed by female students against the denial of entry to the women's hostel of the Kozhikode medical college after 9:30 pm. According to the order, students from the second year can enter the hostel after 9:30 pm by entering the details in the movement register.

However, the High Court pointed out that there is ambiguity as to whether one can go out after 9.30 pm. The University of Health explained that in case of emergency, they can go out with the permission of the warden. The single bench sought clarification from the government in this regard and the pleas were adjourned for hearing on Thursday.
