THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday said that Kerala should remain alert in the wake of the country reporting new cases of Omicron subvariant BF.7. He said that people who are suffering from symptoms such as fever, cold and sore throat, should not ignore those symptoms. He also urged that people should avoid close contact with people who have symptoms of Covid.

At present, India has reported three cases of Omicron subvariant BF.7. Two cases of BF.7 have been reported from Gujarat, while one case has been reported from Odisha. Among those infected in Gujarat is a 61-year-old woman who returned from the US.
