THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The top brass of the Travancore Titanium company will also be under investigation in the Titanium job fraud case. The investigation team has come to the conclusion that Sasikumaran Thampi, the legal DGM and the main mastermind of the fraud, could not directly commit such fraud alone by focusing on the company. A special investigation team led by Assistant Commissioner Dinil will reach the company and conduct a detailed investigation and evidence collection in such matters.
The complaint given by Kottakkakam native to Industries Minister P Rajeeve in November regarding job fraud had been handed over to Titanium MD for investigation. However, the company officials hoarded the complaint. The fact that the company officials neither conducted an investigation nor handed over the complaint to the police is seen both by the police and the complainants as evidence that the top brass of the company was involved in the fraud.
Divya Jyothi, the first accused in the case, had posted job advertisements on social media by mentioning the company's name and posts. Those with common sense will find it difficult to believe that the company officials did not know anything about the fraud even after many people fell prey to it.
There have been allegations of bribery regarding several appointments made in recent years at Travancore Titanium. With the Legal DGM of the company being directly involved in the fake recruitment, all the appointments made at Titanium have come under suspicion. There is a talk among the employees that there was corruption and irregularities in the recent appointments in posts, including the worker post. Many have secretly handed over information about this to the police. Previous appointments will also come under the ambit of the investigation if the police get necessary evidence on this confidential information.
The police believe that more details of the fraud will come out after arresting Sasikumaran Thampi and the other accused, interrogating them and checking their phone call details and money transactions.
