THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Taking a dig at Congress, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday said that some people get worried when anyone speaks about the Muslim League.
"It is like Lord Indra becoming suspicious when he hears about anyone doing a penance. Indra is worried that all who do penance are aspiring for his place. Is there any need to get worried like that? Is the UDF that weak?" the CM asked during the press conference.
He said that the Muslim League is the biggest strength of the UDF. "Muslim League is the biggest strength of UDF. If the position taken by the League creates any movement in Kerala politics, it needs to be mentioned. That's all MV Govindan did," he said.
"The league has taken some stand in the current situation in Kerala. MV Govindan just welcomed that stand. It was not like giving a certificate to anyone," the CM said when asked about CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran's criticism.
"It is important to encourage responses strengthening secularism. It should be seen that way. I had welcomed the League when it had earlier campaigned strongly against minority communalism. When there was a different approach from that, I might have responded accordingly," he added.
Policy address will be there
The Chief Minister said that the government has no problem with the Governor and if there was any, it can be solved. He also said that the policy address is getting ready. He added that there will be a policy address in the Assembly.
