NEW DELHI: As the new variant of Covid is spreading in China, the Indian government has given precautionary guidelines. Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, said that Covid protocols must be followed including the use of mask and sanitizer. He advised those who have not take vaccines to do so immediately.

Meanwhile, the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization’s Covid 19 Working Group Head, Dr. NK Arora said that there is no need to panic about the new Covid variant.

Also, the IMA representative, Dr. Anil Goyal made it clear that as 95% of the Indian population is vaccinated there is no need for a lockdown. He also said that Indians have more resistance power than the Chinese.

Indians have hybrid resistive power and the natural Covid virus have affected 90% of the population. People in India received the hybrid immunity vaccination. According to the INSACOG data, all the variants of Omicron’s sub-categories seen in other parts of the world is present in India.
