THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of the preparations for the Lok Sabha elections, the CPM state committee has decided to organize an extensive campaign against the central government in addition to a house visit programme to increase public contact. CPM state secretary MV Govindan said that the party will organize agitation and campaign programs in all the villages and localities of the state from January 20 to 30 against the central government's economic and political approaches.
From January 1 to 21, leaders ranging from Politburo members to branch members will visit houses and interact with people. The house visit programme will be organized on a booth basis. MV Govindan said that leaders will explain to the people the state government's pro-people programs and the Centre's anti-people policies.
"The Centre's policy is to suffocate the state governments. The Centre ignored the state's demand that the GST compensation should be paid continuously for five years. It slashed Rs 24.638 crore in the state's borrowing limit. BJP and Congress are trying to weaken the LDF government. In conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the RSS, the Sangh Parivar is raising the Hindu Rashtra argument," Govindan said.
"We will also organize a strong campaign against wrong trends in the media. An alternative media sector will be developed. The campaign of the party mouthpiece will be strengthened. The party will intervene strongly in the field of new media," Govindan added.
