THRISSUR: An elephant delivered a calf in a rubber plantation adjacent to the forest border at Mukkanamkunnu in Vellikulangara. The tapping workers informed the concerned. The elephant delivered at the plantation of Harrison Malayalam Estate at Chokkana Mukkanamkunnu. The tapping workers after noticing three big elephants in the plantation understood that the elephant had given birth.

Three big elephants are in the spot to protect the calf. Forest guards have reached the spot. Elephants have delivered in the plantation areas in the past also. The local residents informed that a herd of other elephants are camping at a distance.
