THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: MG University Section Assistant CJ Elsy has been dismissed from service. The order of dismissal was issued by the Pro Vice Chancellor following the decision of the syndicate. Vigilance arrested Elsy after taking bribe from a student in connection with mark list distribution. Following this, Elsy was then suspended. A syndicate committee was appointed to conduct the inquiry. She was dismissed based on the committee's report.
It is reported that there has been serious lapse, misuse of power, serious irregularities and misconduct on Elsy’s part. Elsy was caught by Vigilance while taking Rs 15,000 as bribe from a student to provide the mark list and provisional certificate.
While checking her account, Vigilance also found that she had taken bribes from many people through Google Pay. The investigation by the university committee also revealed that the marks of the third semester MBA mercy chance examination of two students had been falsified.
