THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have registered a case against CITU leader after it was found that he acted as an intermediary in the Titanium job scam. The Cantonment Police registered a case against Anil Kumar (Manakkad Anil), District Secretary of the CITU organization of Coffee House employees. He works at the coffee house of MLA hostel. It is reported that he absconded after the case was registered.
The case was registered following the complaint of a youth from Chengal that Anil Kumar offered him a job for the post of work assistant and paid Rs 10 lakh to the main accused Divya Jyothi. Another case was registered against him and other accused on the complaint lodged by a native of Kazhakootam that they extorted Rs 9 lakh from him in 2018 by offering a job. The complaint of the Kazhakoottam native states that he handed over money to Anil Kumar.
Meanwhile, the investigation team has doubts that the fraudsters also got the help of IT and HR department of the company. The resident of Chengal complained that he got the hall ticket after paying the money through Anil Kumar for the vacant post of work assistant. Hall ticket is issued by IT and HR department. This is what caused the doubt. The staff here may be questioned by the investigation team in the next few days.
A resident of Chengal approached Anil Kumar through his relative, a coffee house employee. This was based on information that he was offering jobs to many people in Titanium. The instruction was to pay Rs 10 lakh and to apply through the website. Rs 5 lakh was given to Divya Jyothi whom he introduced. Even after months he did not get the hall ticket. After paying the remaining amount, the hall ticket was received. But Divya said that as the money has paid to the concerned people, there is no need to write the exam and it is enough to attend the interview.
As it was Covid time, Legal Deputy General Manager Sasikumaran Thambi interviewed via video call. After months of not getting a job, he called Divya but to no avail. Then he filed the complaint. At the same time, it is reported that many people have been victims of fraud. His transactions were direct without phone calls. The investigation team said the extent of the fraud will be known only after his arrest.

Yesterday evening, the investigation team reached the legal department of Titanium and seized some documents and files. Meanwhile, Titanium MD George Ninan was not in the office yesterday. The employees say that the MD is on leave.
