THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM on Saturday found itself on the defensive after P Jayarajan raised allegations of financial irregularities against LDF convener EP Jayarajan in the state committee meeting. P Jayarajan raised the allegation when the state committee met to discuss the party members' rectification document to guide them in the right direction.
In the meantime, CPM Thiruvananthapuram district secretary Anavoor got entangled in a controversy after a purported voice clip of suspended Nemom Area Committee member and former SFI district secretary Abhijith surfaced. In this voice clip, Abhijith is heard revealing that it was Anavoor Nagappan who advised him to hide his real age to continue in SFI.
EP Jayarajan is a CPM central committee member and LDF convener. Although P Jayarajan is a member of the state committee, the party leadership is convinced that his words have more meaning as he was earlier the district secretary of Kannur. That is why party state secretary MV Govindan, who did not deny the allegation, asked Jayarajan to hand over a written complaint. Jayarajan agreed to give it in writing. The allegation was raised in the presence of the Chief Minister.
Jayarajan said in the committee meeting that EP Jayarajan had built a big resort and Ayurveda establishment in Kannur and when he made this allegation earlier, changes were made in the board of directors of the company.
Jayarajan raised the allegation while participating in the discussion of the rectification document. EP Jayarajan, who has been on leave from the party for a long time, was not present at the meeting.
Although P Jayarajan did not uphold the news, he refused to deny the allegations. Jayarajan told the state committee that there are many doubts about the establishment and he is raising the allegation authentically and in good faith.
