THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mass action in CPM related to the POCSO case involving DYFI leader in Vilavoorkal. Vilavoorkal local secretary Malayam Biju has been warned and also removed him from the post. Local committee member J S Renjith has been demoted. Two other local committee members have also been warned.

The Malayinkeezhu police had arrested eight people including DYFI leader Jinesh under the POCSO Act for sexually abusing a 16-year-old girl. The party took action as was not vigilant in the case of accused Jinesh. Meantime, the party explained that local secretary Malayam Biju was shifted as he got the post of bank president.

Jinesh and the other accused sexually abused the girl after circulating her phone number in the WhatsApp Group 'Kanjavu Boys.’ She was abused after establishing friendship with her via social media. The eight-member gang abused the girl for two years at her home when no one was at home. Jinesh had also captured private pics with the girl on his mobile phone.

The explanation of the police was that Jinesh, who was active in anti-drug campaigns, had confessed to have used drugs including MDMA, but due to lack of evidence, a case could not be filed. Jinesh's mobile also had private pics with several married women. No case was filed because no one complained. The visuals of a birthday cake cut with a deadly weapon had also surfaced.
