THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The complainant said that no further action will be taken against former chief minister and senior congress leader Oommen Chandy in the solar sexual assault case. The decision is considering Chandy’s age and illness, she said.
Meantime, the complainant said that she will oppose the acquittal of others including K C Venugopal in the court. The investigating officials informed the court that there are no evidences for the allegations levelled by the complainant.
The CBI had given a clean chit to Oommen Chandy and former congress leader and now BJP national leader A P Abdullakutty. The complainant had alleged that Chandy the then chief minister had sexually abused her in Cliff House and Abdullakutty at the Mascot Hotel. The CBI found that Chandy was not in Cliff House on that day.
The complainant had registered a sexual complaint against Oommen Chandy, K C Venugopal, Adoor Prakash, Hibi Eden, A P Anil Kumar and A P Abdullakutty. The CBI had earlier given a clean chit to K C Venugopal, Adoor Prakash, Hibi Eden and A P Anil Kumar.
With Chandy given a clean chit, Congress leaders came forward saying that truth cannot be hidden for long and that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan should apologize. Opposition leader VD Satheesan asked the chief minister to apologize to Chandy and his family.
