KOCHI: Controversy over the look of the Pappanji constructed for the Cochin Carnival. BJP workers have alleged that Pappanji resembles Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Pappanji is being constructed at the Ernakulam Parade Ground. BJP workers have stopped the construction.

BJP workers claims that the face and attire of Pappanji resembled Prime Minister Narendra Modi and therefore cannot burn Papaanji. After a discussion with the intervention of the police, the organisers agreed to change the appearance of Pappanji.

The event is organized by the Cochin Carnival Committee. The message behind burning Pappanji is that good triumphs over evil.
