THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The new email provided to lodge complaints about the errors in the third map after adding the buffer zone numbers is also non-functional. The government has instructed to report the complaints to the email id esz.forest@kerala.gov.in by January 7. But people receive reply that the email id does not exists.
In the first published 1 km satellite image and the second published zero kilometre map, the e-mail id eszexpertcommittee@gmail.com was given to send the complaint. That mail also received thousands of complaints. But when the third map was released, the email id of the forest department was given given instead of the address of the expert committee.
The third map also includes many residential areas and farms. In many districts the survey numbers were recorded both inside and outside the buffer zone. Mankulam Panchayat, which came into existence in 2000, is not visible on the map of Idukki .Officials of the Kerala Independent Farmers Association (KIFA) say that the map had mistakes as it was prepared using data from before 2000.
