AHMEDABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Gujarat to have a last glimpse of his mother Heeraben Modi. She passed away at the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Center in Ahmedabad at around 3:30 am Friday.

As soon as the Prime Minister heard the demise of his mother, the Prime Minister, who was in Delhi, left for Gujarat. He paid tributes to his mother where the body was kept at Raysan village near Gandhinagar.

Modi said that he always felt in her the presence of a trinity combining an ascetic's journey, a selfless doer and a life committed to values.
