THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM state secretariat decided not to conduct an investigation against E P Jayarajan in the financial allegation levelled against him, for the time being. Whether an investigation is needed can be decided later. EP attended the meeting and explained what he had to say. It is learned that Jayarajan had also explained about his wife’s and son’s share in the resort.

EP refused to respond to the media after the secretariat meet. He wished everyone a 'Happy New Year'.

The issue was discussed today as PB directed the state party to discuss and take a decision. While the opposition has taken up the issue as a weapon against the government, the CPM is also mulling alternative campaigns to counter it. Efforts are being made to ensure that factionalism is not strengthened again.
