THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In an explanation at the CPM state secretariat on the Ayurvedic resort controversy, LDF convener EP Jayarajan said that he has no investment in the resort. He admitted that his wife and son had investments and said it is not illegal. Jayarajan further said that the party was not informed of it as both of them do not hold official positions in the CPM. "12 years of business income was invested in the resort. The wife made the investment on the insistence of son. The source of income of both has been given to the party.", Jayarajan explained.

At the same time, the CPM state secretariat is of the view that there is no need for an investigation against EP Jayarajan for the time being and a decision on this will be taken later. EP Jayarajan did not respond to the media after the secretariat meeting. His only reply was ``Happy New Year'' to everyone. The matter was discussed today as PB suggested that a decision should be taken within the state unit of the party.

While the opposition has taken up the issue as a weapon against the government, the CPM is also mulling alternative campaigns to counter it. Efforts are being made to ensure sectarianism in the party doesn't regain a foothold.
