The accident happened Sunday morning around 3 am. Some youths in an inebriated state hit her scooty with their car and dragged her for several kilometres. Eyewitnesses said the woman who fell from the scooty was dragged for kilometres. The woman died on the spot as a result of the impact. The clothes got entangled with the car and was dragged for eight kilometres. After noticing the car carrying the body of the girl, many tried to inform the police about the vehicle.

Finally, after stopping the car in which the boys were travelling, the condition of the girl was so bad, that after being dragged on, her clothes and even the back side of her body got ripped off. The police arrested the five intoxicated youths who were in the car.

Swati Maliwal, chairperson of the women's commission, said that they have sought information about the incident from the Delhi Police. Meantime, the youths in custody said the car hit the scooter, but did not know that she was entangled in the wheels.
