NEW DELHI: The BJP has lodged a complaint stating that John Brittas, an MP, made a comment that promoted religious intolerance. The BJP state general secretary lodged a complaint with the Rajya Sabha chairman against John Brittas MP's speech at the Nadvathul Mujahideen state conference held in Kozhikode. The BJP alleged that the remarks made by John Brittas at the conference were divisive in the society, creating enmity between religions and inciting violence.

The BJP has demanded action against the MP in the matter. During the Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen (KNM) state conference, John Brittas MP had asked whether KNM thought that it could change RSS' stand through dialogue.

BJP state president K Surendran had also come out against the remarks made by Brittas at the conference venue. He said that John Brittas and CPM were trying to create riots in the country and it is objectionable that the police did not file a case against Brittas' speech.
