THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Governor has decided to move forward with the swearing in ceremony of Saji Cheriyan as Minister in spite of his opposition to Saji Cheriyan because of a pending case against him for insulting the constitution. This decision has come as a relief to the government and the left front.

Saji Cheriyan who had insulted the Constitution must today at 4 pm must say the oath of office in the name of that very Constitution.

After giving his approval, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan told the media that this is an unusual situation. He has informed the CM about his concerns. But ultimately gave approval to the CM’s recommendation, said the Governor. The Governor was not reluctant to go ahead with the swearing in ceremony and held his ground even when the Chief Secretary contacted him. However, when the CM called the Governor directly, he loosened his stance.

However, the legal proceedings against Saji Cheriyan will be a headache to the left front. The opposition has made it clear that they will approach the court. The swearing in ceremony will boycotted by the opposition in protest.
