KOCHI: The DRI (Directorate of Revenue Intelligence) on Wednesday arrested a passenger who attempted to smuggle 1.375 kg of gold at the Nedumbassery airport. The gold was seized from a passenger who arrived from Dubai. Two ground-handling employees who tried to smuggle gold were also taken into custody by DRI. The employees were caught while trying to receive the gold at the airport toilet.
The arrested ground-handling employees are Vishnu and Abhish. The inspection took place today afternoon. The DRI is yet to reveal the name of the passenger who arrived from Dubai.
