MUMBAI: Sanju Samson is on the brink of missing the second T20 match against Srilanka after suffering an injury in India’s opener at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. As per reports, the injury is a result of a diving attempt for a catch in the first over. Reports emerge now saying the Kerala cricketer not joining his teammates in Pune for the scheduled second T20.
Sanju awaits the results of his knee scan and may slip out his chance from the second T20 outing against Lanka. The Kerala Prodigy endured a difficult night at Wankhede after mistiming a shot of Dhananjaya de Silva and returning to the pavilion with just 5 runs.
The terrible night showed no mercy to Samson as he dropped a catch easily earning brickbats from cricketing legends. ‘Sanju Samson has so much of talent but his shot selection sometimes lets him down’ said Sunil Gavaskar. Cricketer turned politician Gautam Gambhir also joined the bandwagon questioning the 28-year-old Indian batter.
