THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Travancore Devaswom president K Ananthagopan has reacted to the report filed in the High Court stating that the cardamom used in the Aravana prasad at Sabarimala contains pesticide content. The Devaswom Board president said that there was no need to worry about the report submitted in court. Ananthagopan said that the Devaswom Board procures cardamom after testing its quality in the lab at Pamba.
"The Devaswom Board procures cardamom after testing its quality in the lab at Pampa. For many years, the board has been purchasing food supplies by the standards set by the Pampa lab.
Ananthagopan alleged that competition between contractors is behind the current allegations and complaints. He added that the board will take further action as per the court's direction in the matter.
