MALAPPURAM: The Muslim League has 24.33 lakh members in the state at the completion of the membership drive. 51 percent of the members are women. The Muslim League leadership said that 61 percent of the members are under 35 years of age.
Muslim League had 22 lakh members at the end of the campaign in 2016. This time, there has been an increase of 2,33,295 members. Muslim League state president Sadiqali Shihab Thangal said that this is proof that the message of the league has reached the young generation and women in a good way. According to League national general secretary PK Kunhalikutty, women have largely accepted the League and most of the votes received by MSF on college campuses were cast by girls. He also said that the Muslim League was at the forefront of efforts to stop terrorism from spreading to Kerala.
