POTHENCODE: A police officer who rejected the recommendations of the leaders and impounded the vehicle of a drunken gang and registered a case, has been transferred. Amar Singh Nayak, who was the Mangalapuram SI, was transferred to Attingal traffic after rejecting the demands of the left leaders.

On New Year's Eve at 8 pm, a vehicle carrying five health department employees, including a woman, collided with a bike in Kaniyapuram. Then the highway police who reached the spot found that the driver of the car was drunk. Then the car and driver were brought to Mangalapuram station. After medical examination, he was charged with drunken driving and released. But the senior leaders of the district intervened and asked to not file a case and release the vehicle. Despite this, the SI followed the procedures which irked the leaders.
