KASARAGOD: Another death due to food poisoning has been reported in the state. The deceased has been identified as Anjusree Parvathy from Thalaklayi in Kasaragod. She started feeling unwell after eating a kuzhimanthi bought online from a hotel in Uduma. After becoming seriously ill, Anju was hospitalized in a private hospital in Mangalore where she passed away.

The food item was bought from Romansia Hotel in Uduma. Anju's friends who ate with her also got food poisoning. Uduma MLA CH Kunjhambu informed that they also fallen sick. The Health Minister ordered an investigation.

Relatives have lodged a complaint with the police. Officials from Kasaragod and Kannur will visit the hotel to confirm whether the cause of death was 'kuzhimanthi'. The water and food in the concerned hotel will be inspected.

This is the second food poisoning death in a week. Reshmi, a native of Kottayam, died of food poisoning after having 'Alfaham', on Monday. Also, a girl named Devananda recently died after eating shawarma in Kasaragod.
