NEW DELHI: Shankar Mishra (34), the man who urinated on his female co-passenger on New York-Delhi Air India flight has been arrested from Bengaluru. The police had earlier issued a lookout notice for Shankar Mishra, while he was absconding. His sister's house is in Bengaluru. Earlier, the police checked his tower location and got a hint that he is in Bengaluru.

After the incident, Shankar Mishra, a native of Mumbai and businessman, was dismissed from the Wells Fargo company. Shankar Mishra was the vice president of the Indian chapter of Wells Fargo, an American multinational financial services firm with its headquarters in California.

On November 26, Shankar Mishra urinated on a woman passenger in business class on a New York-Delhi Air India flight. He had requested the woman not to complain to the police as if the incident came to light, it would affect his family life. But the incident came to light when the woman decided to proceed with legal action. Air India filed a police complaint only this week.

Following this, Air India banned Shankar Mishra from flying for 30 days. An explanation was sought from the employees who handled the incident and an internal committee was assigned to investigate. Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has warned of strict action if airline staff fails to take action against passengers behaving badly or inappropriately.
