KOCHI: The investigation team will submit the first charge sheet in the Elanthoor double human sacrifice case in the court today. The charge sheet in the murder case of Padma, a native of Tamil Nadu, will be submitted. There are three accused in the case, including the main accused Muhammad Shafi. The investigation team is confident that they have collected all the evidence that can prove that the accused in guilty.
The probe team faced severe challenges from the beginning since there are no eye witness in the case. The charge sheet is prepared on the basis of scientific and circumstantial evidence. The first accused is Muhammad Shafi, who persuaded the other accused to perform human sacrifice for the prosperity of the family and to earn money by selling human flesh. The second and third accused are Bhagwal Singh and his wife Laila. The accused have been charged with murder, abduction, conspiracy, indignity of the dead body, and theft.
It is also said in the charge sheet that this is a rarest of rare case because after killing the victims, the accused ate human flesh. The aim of the investigation team is to ensure maximum punishment for the accused. The probe team has informed that all the evidences that can prove the guilt of the three accused have been collected. It is indicated that there are around 200 pages in the charge sheet. Two cases were registered in Kadavantra and Kalady police stations. The investigation team will submit the charge sheet in the in the murder of Rosily in Perumbavoor court next week. The case was registered at Kalady police station.
