ERNAKULAM: Widespread raids carried out by the Food Safety Department in the hotels in the state. Action has been taken against 36 hotels in Kochi. Six hotels were closed down as serious issues were found in the raid.
A One in Fort Kochi, City Star, Sheba Biryani in Kakkanad, Gulan Thattukada in Erumpanam and Majilis in North Paravur were closed.
Meanwhile, the Food Safety Department continues the raid in Kozhikode. Officials said no stale food was found. Four hotels operating without license were closed yesterday.
Two people died of food poisoning in the state within a week. Anjushree Parvathy, a native of Kasaragod, died this morning after she felt unwell after eating ‘Kuzhimathi’. Kottayam native Rashmi died on Monday due to food poisoning from ‘Alfaham’.
