KOCHI: The probe team has submitted the first charge sheet to the Ernakulam Magistrate's Court in the Elanthoor double human sacrifice case. A 1600-page charge sheet has been submitted. There are three accused in the case. Muhammed Shafi is the main accused. As per the charge sheet, the accused attempted to sacrifice three more people.

The probe team had faced severe challenges from the beginning as there were no eyewitnesses in the case. The charge sheet has been prepared on the basis of scientific evidence and circumstantial evidence. The first accused is Muhammad Shafi, who persuaded the other accused to perform human sacrifices for the prosperity of the family and earn money by selling human flesh. Traditional healer Bhagawal Singh and his wife Laila are the second and third accused respectively. The accused have been charged with murder, abduction, conspiracy, dishonour, and theft.

It is also said in the charge sheet that this is a rare case because the accused ate human flesh after committing the murders. The aim of the investigation team is to ensure maximum punishment for the accused. The investigation team has stated that it has collected all evidence that can prove the guilt of the three accused.
