THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 26-year-old youth was arrested for hitting a middle-aged man on his head with a beer bottle. The man lost his vision. The accused is Vishnu alias Johnny of Maranalloor Pongummoodu Koovalasseri Navodaya Lane. Saji (44) of Saji Bhavan was injured for questioning liquor consumption in a public place.

The incident happened on the night of Christmas at 9.30 pm. The reason for the attack was that Saji had warned them for consuming liquor on the side of the Kattuvila road. Saji had injured his eye and lost his vision while stopping Johnny's attack.

The accused was arrested by Valapilssala police on the directions of Kattakkada DySP S Anil Kumar. He was produced in Kattakkada Judicial First-Class Magistrate Court.
