KASARGOD: The preliminary findings in the post-mortem report states that the death of college student Anjusree was not due to food poisoning. It is concluded that the cause of death was cardiac arrest due to infection. The report also states that further investigation should be done to clarify the cause of death. It is reported that the internal organs including the liver were completely damaged and she was suffering from jaundice.
This information is contained in the preliminary report submitted to the Food Safety Commissioner by the food safety officers in Kasargod who collected the information from the doctors of Mangalore Medical College who treated the girl and the doctors of Pariyaram Medical College where the post-mortem was conducted. Anjusree's internal organs have already been sent for chemical testing. Chemical tests are done to clarify the cause of death.
Kasargod Thalaklayi native Anjusree Parvathy and her friends ate ‘Kuzhimanthi’ on December 31 by ordering it online from ‘Al Romancia Hotel’. The next morning, Anjusree felt physically unwell. Later she was admitted to a hospital in Mangalore due to her critical condition. The girl died while undergoing treatment here.
