KOCHI: Shashi Tharoor MP said that the caste-based activities allegation against him is baseless. He said that talent is important and not caste. He added that he was not interested in responding to the term 'Tharavadi Nair'.
Orthodox church head Baselios Marthoma Mathews III told Tharoor to become more active in Kerala politics. He said this while meeting Tharoor. Tharoor responded that he was working for Kerala in Delhi and will be active in state from now onwards. He also hinted about contesting in assembly elections. He said that how can he reject when everyone is demanding it.
At the same time, during the meeting, the Orthodox church head made a sharp criticism against the Congress. He said that the Congress has deteriorated and that it had to sit in the opposition continuously due to lack of unity in the party. He also talked about strengthening the Congress in the state.
