JEDDAH: India and Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement for this year's Haj. According to the agreement, 1,75,025 pilgrims from India will be able to perform Hajj in 2023. In 2019, 2 lakh pilgrims from India got the chance to perform Haj.
This year's Haj agreement was signed by Indian Consul General Muhammad Shahid Alam and Saudi Minister of State for Haj and Umrah Dr. Abdulfattah Sulain. The discussion was held at the Haj Expo held at the Jeddah Superdome.
In 2020 and 2021, foreign Haj pilgrims were not able to perform Haj due to Covid. In 2022, 79,237 people came from India for Haj.
